# Check an interrupted submission

Each accepted [`createGeneration`](/docs/api/createGeneration) request creates a separate job and may incur a separate charge. Disable automatic retries for this POST, including in your HTTP client and proxy.

If the response times out or disconnects, stop sending requests. If you have the generation ID, use [`getGeneration`](/docs/api/getGeneration) to check it.

Otherwise, inspect recent jobs with [`listGenerations`](/docs/api/listGenerations) and reconcile the ledger before deciding whether to submit a new job.
